Slim Jar 4, Wood Fired

$30.00

The influence that led to these were the clay jars in which the Dead Sea Scrolls were stored. I took it through a wood firing (cone 13) and unlike the earthenware DSS jars, these are not porous. And they are small. Interiors are vitreous and unglazed. Exteriors are mostly glazed by the ash blowing through the wood kiln. Small jar 1 is to store items that have more height than circumference. Put licorice half-sticks here for safekeeping. Ear swabs fit, too. On its own, each is pleasant to the hand and eye, needing no “job”. ~5.25” x 2.75”.
